Around the Block 2007

Day 29 (Foz back towards Ponta Pora)

No go in Argentina!  Back towards Bolivia....

Lots of wind and some rain today, but we almost made our goal of Ponta Pora (Brazil/Paraguay border town) today.  Found a little hostel in the town of Tacuru 80km short of our goal, but that was only because we had to re-enter Brazil (and all the paperwork that goes with) and didn't get on the road back north until noon.

Stopped in Santa Elena at the same place we slept the night we were so wet.  Great reception and good food!  Strength to push on..

Met 4 Brazilian riders on Honda 400`s (headed north to Venezuela taking the road up exactly the way we had come south) on the bridge crossing the Parana at Guiaira-Novo Mundo.  We then turned off familiar roads and pushed north west towards Bolivia, now in the rain and AGAINST the wind.

A good day...  We are encouraged that we can make progress again... just unsure of what we will find at the Bolivian border....
