Today Luke and I sat down and looked at our options. Pucallpa (in Peru where we left from) is again on strike and the papers we need to cross into Argentina are stuck in "tramite" due to the strike. No hope there...
We could head all the way back the way we came (over 5,000 km, 3,000 miles) or try another way... Paraguay requires a visa for USA-ers, but we can easily get it here. Or we can head back up to Corumba, Brazil and cross into Bolivia (which we tried to avoid) and cut thru to La Paz, Bolivia - Puno, Peru. That now seems like the best option due to the fact that we are a week behind our original schedule...
So..., we will try Argentina again tomorrow (Sunday there might be different folks on the border), and if that fails we will turn back towards Bolivia.....
