Day 26 (Foz, Brazil) "Fix It First"

In Foz, waiting for FEDEX...............

First things first.  It was FREEZING last night (not the normal weather, a "frio" had blown in taking it down to 43 F ) !  Not a great night.  But in the mornig we had things to do.  First get into town for $$ and parts (we ran out of chain lube 1/2 way thru the day of rain and deperately need some).  Lukeīs moto is hard-starting in the morning and we wanted to figure it out.

Found a great place to wash the motos, then went to the nuts-and-bolts store and replaced our stripped ones.  Then to the Honda place, but the parts were closed til 2pm.  We grabbed some chinese food and went to a Super  Market for a few essentials, then back to HONDA.  They think it is the starter, but I have my doubts.  We buy some chain lube and head back to the youth hostel.

Upon arriving we meet with another traveler (Felix, an Austrian Triathelete http://www.felix-bergmeister.at/ ) that is on a BMW going sort of around the world.  Had some great conversations.  He canīt believe that we came by the route we did as everyone else tells him that it doesnīt exist!  "Well, we are here to prove it does!"  We talk and he decides to change his route to Caracas, Venezuela to retrace our steps all the way to Pucallpa, get a boat down to Iquitos and Manaus and go north from there.  It was not our intention to talk him into anything, but we are excited and give him info and peopleīs names along the way...

Too late for much except to work a little on the motos and go to supper.  Tomorrow I think we will go by bus-tour to the Argentina side of the falls for the day with others from the youth hostel here.  Some of the cold has disapated (I hope!) so tonight might not be quite so cold......  (it IS winter south of the Equator!)
