Yes, Luke has been riding since Peru on bent (and straightened in a press, yet still with wrinkles) front forks (shocks / suspension for those not moto-savy). Here is our chance to put things right. The prices should be good here (the motos are Brazilian-made) and we have a nice airplane hanger (of the SIL/JAARS center here) to work in (pix).
Luke begins taking the moto apart while Paul very kindly takes me to town (Cuiaba) to the Honda place (pix with Paul at counter). What a place! Everything modern and computer inventoried! Even in the capitol of Peru (Lima) there is nothing like this. Brazil is truely exceptional!
Parts are cheaper than expected, so we get forks and seals, chains and sprockets, and a rear rack for me (remember the broken saddle-bags..). Back to work. Paul and Angie invite us to lunch. Night comes early (5:20pm) this far south in the "winter" (the "frio" has passed and the days are back to the 90īs here in the "winter", but it is very dry) and we are not finished Lukeīs moto (and havenīt started mine).
But we are invited out for supper on the "town" by Jonathan and Kelly (with parents and friends) to a "Churrasceria". There you serve yourself from the salad bar and then the waiter come around with all types of meats cooked all types of ways on these HUGE shiskabobs and slice you off all you want! And they donīt stop coming! Thankyou J & K!
Planned to leave in the morning, but obviously we still have work to do, not that we mind... We are really going to miss this place (and our new friends!).... (pix of Luke in our "home" away from home).
