Day 11 (Puerto Maldonado) "It's Fixed!.. sort of.."
The bike is rolling again. The forks were bent back sort of straight (in a press) and reassembled (to be fixed with new parts in Brazil). Another rim was found off an old moto and replaced with a mixture of different spokes (it will work but will hop a little on the highway if we ever make it to one!).
But the day is too late and our clothes are not dried, so we will not take off until tomorrow. We really need new chains but I do not want to p
ut any on until we get past the dirt. Tomorrow we push for the border (after a river crossing on a ferry like thing) and on into Brazil for 110 km to the first town with lodging...
