15/11/07 - Final Analysis.
I really wish I could get around to updating this site more, but life just gets in the way sometimes.
First up. Australian Convention Season is over. and speaking personally, thank god. RoboToon issue 1 was released officially at Supanova in Sydney and Armageddon in Melbourne. Myself and the majority of the Ozslaught crew went down to Melbourne for Armageddon. Which turned out to be an unholy nightmare. I won't go into details, cause I really don't want to relive it, but it started with a speeding ticket and emended with a car accident. In a nutshell, never again.
I wouldn't have been quite as upset if Toon had sold well, but I only wound up selling maybe 3 or 4 copies. Most of which I had to bribe people with by doing portraits if they bought the book. The rest of the Ozslaught crew didn't fair much better.
The first issue of Ozslaught was released as well. Once again, speaking personally, I was really unhappy with the final book. I busted my butt trying to get my pages completed in time, and due to unforeseen circumstances, they were not looking their best when finally printed. This sort of thing happens when you leave things last minute. The cover I had created wasn't colour corrected either, so all up it was not a final product that made me especially proud.
On the upside, RoboToon has discovered new life here on home soil. I've sold an extra five or so issues, which has garnered very positive feedback, which has thrill oed me. Toon has been in my life for a long time, so it's quite vindicating for him to finally have some measure of success.
Finally, since I suck so Badly at updating this site, I've created a joint Swashbuckler Studios/Stab Comics Myspace page. IT's still a work in progress, but sign up if you want to know any and all new Film or comic news.
