See New additions page for some exciting Aaronby News!! Welcome to Shaggysheps, a website dedicated to my longcoated German Shepherd dogs. Here you will find out about the dogs I own and my plans for the future. I am a very lucky pet owner, fortunate enough to own fine examples of long coated, primarily English bred, strong and healthy kennel club registered dogs. They all live in th home and are spoilt absolutely rotten! Hopefully in the future I will be fortunate enough to share with others the happiness I have found in my dogs by producing pups with the same outstanding temperaments and type as the ones you see on this site.
Leo (above) is the first German Shepherd I have owned. My love of dogs must have originated from my grandad (as no-one else was...well...enthusiastic about them lets say!) who bred the English Bull Terrier and the Cairn terrier. He produced several champions in the show ring and usually had at least three generations living with us (much to my granny's dispair). Many a childhood weekend was spent at a dog show of some sort and the wall of the shed was covered in winners rosettes. This is where our litters were whelped. I remember this part of my childhood very fondly.
Soon after Leo joined the family I realised I would never be without a Shepherd in my life. His loyalty and affection shone through even as a small pup (Was he ever small??).He rarely leaves my side, even with boundless fields to roam, his favourite place is by my feet. He passed his kennel club puppy class and bronze award at a very early age, and although he is happy to run about in the fields all day, he is equally content on the fireplace (or on my knee) sleeping.
