Shady Oaks Farm

For Sale

Shady Oaks has a variety of quality horses available for sale or lease from the novice pleasure rider to the experienced show rider. If you don't see exactly what you need, please contact us.  Due to our large network of trainers and brokers, we may be able to help you find what you are looking for.

It is more important to make a successful match between horse and rider than it is to simply make a sale. If the partnership between the horse and rider is not harmonious, then we do not consider the sale to be a success. Shady Oaks always recommends that an amateur purchaser should obtain the help a reputable trainer and should get a veterinarian’s evaluation of the horse.

Please contact Alaina at shady_oaks@hotmail.com or (919) 427-8022 for more information on all sale horses.

If you are looking for a versatile, intelligent, athletic, eye-catching mount, "Sunny" fits the bill.  Beautifully marked with a solid column of bone, "Sunny" is a floaty mover with nice reach both up front and behind, honest and brave to fences, and loves to jump. She has tons of miles in the ring, on the event course, and on the trails.   Shown successfully in beginner novice events, has schooled 3'.  In summer 2008 attended 2 ADA shows and brought home 2 high point championships, including a training level test score of 74%;  dressage scores at training level are consistently in the 6-8s, with a handful of 9's.  Has been schooling first level.  Perfect ground manners and a laid back attitude.  When working over fences, she enjoys her job and would be better suited for an intermediate rider.  Fantastic all around potential and a treat to work with.

100% bred for western pleasure, "Susie Q" is by a Zippo Pine Bar stallion out of a Sonny Dee Bar mare.  She is a quality mover with excellent potential as a nice amateur/youth western pleasure mount.  Also a candidate for western riding, trail, horsemanship, showmanship, and equitation.  Very soft and rhythmic jog, nice long strided lope with lots of reach from the shoulder and natural self carriage.  Spooks at nothing, knows her job.  Needs a rider who will continue to bring her training along.
