You might be thinking, "What's so special about the life of a Pokémon fan? I'm a fan of something, my life is normal." Yes, well, let me finish.

What do people do to show they like something? They might tell people, or wear shirts that have Pokémon on them. Maybe they'd draw pictures of Pokémon when they are supposed to be doing something else. Those seem like good hints someone likes something, right?

But, you don't often see those signs. You don't see people wearing shirts that have a Pikachu on them, or sketches of Charizard on the insides of lockers. Does that mean Pokémon is not popular?

No. Pokémon is very popular. Emerald was one of the top selling GBA games for 2005. You're not going to tell me Pokémon haters buy the games, are you? People that like Pokémon generally have to keep quiet about it.

Many people dub Pokémon a "kiddy thing". Well, I can assure you it's not. There are plots behind the movies and the show that are very deep. Stuff a little kid might not understand. And there are many lessons of friendship and bravery in the show, like whenever Ash tries to save Pikachu from Team Rocket.

But still, people are put down for liking Pokémon. They are made fun of, and teased. So we tend to hide our Pokémon life, and share our liking for Pokémon with complete strangers online. Kind of sad, isn't it?
