Well, it has been a long winter, already, and it only the first of January.  I hope we can make it until the spring.

I went over to the club house a couple of days ago and talked to Jeff.  He told me that there wasn’t anything going on right now, just waiting for the snow to melt.  He told me that Gary Crossley went into the hospital last week and had a hip replacement.  He said that he had been up to see him and he was doing well, thought he should be home by this weekend.  Jeff said that Gary had worked his butt off and had gotten all the equipment ready for this year’s season.  He and Ryan were working on the golf carts, doing routine maintenance on them, lubrication, checking the batteries, etc.

Jeff said that his main focus for course improvements this year will be the fairways.  He said that all of the fairways have grubs in them and that he will be putting down grub killer this spring.  He is going to keep on top of the greens, they will be deep aerated this spring.  In the past the greens have been punched with short spikes, this year will be with the longer ones.

I asked him if the prices were changing this year.  He said that everything is going to stay the same.  He said that you can save $25.00 if you buy your pass before the end of January.

Last year the League purchased a Bar-B-Que for the course.  I asked him if he had any ideas for this year if the league votes to do the same this year.  He said that he would think about it and let me know soon.

     ________________________________________________________________________________

I have put the new Weekend and Men’s Thursday schedules on the Men’s page.  Everyone have a look and see what you think.   If you have any suggestions for change or if you would like to play some different format’s, let me know and I will see what can be done about it.

The Weekend tournament has been changed a little to accommodate some request by the club house.  I was told the dates for the Utah Open, Stansbury Budweiser Open and the Oquirrh Hills Club Championship and I tried to work around these.  Jeff and Ryan said that it looked good to them.  The Tuesday / Thursday and Club Championship have been moved to the very last of the year to accommodate these requests.

If you can think of anything that you would like to see changed with the league, let me know or bring your suggestions to the spring meeting so that they can be voted on.  I hope that everyone will come out for the meeting, I will put up flyers and send out e-mail’s to let everyone when and where.
