GLUE SMELL.

1.  I have found that some glues have a smell about them where you are told to have plenty of ventilation. I have been putting my tubles of glue in quartz jar. I use plastic jars if I can. You may have roll up the ends a little to get in jar. The next time you open the jar you will find that it did keep the smell in the jar.

2. A CHRISTMAS WREATH

I had some ideas for our Christmas party decorations. Each year I try to come up with something different. While shopping for garland to build some Coat Hanger Christmas Trees. I found a couple packages of Pine Garland that was in  15 feet lengths. I took a coat hanger and rounded it the best I could. You want to make it into a circle. Take the garland and lay it out and twist the two ends together. The loop at the other end place over the hook of the hanger. Then start looping the double garland over and through the coat hanger. You keep rolling the garland around and around and through the coat hanger.Keep pushing the garland that you have already done back up toward the hook to have enough room. When you have used your entire garland then take a couple inches and loop around the hook. Now a Bow and what ever ideas you have to decorate your Coat Hanger Christmas Wreath. Some ideas could be to put Pine Cones, Candy, Beads, Polish rocks and what ever you can come up with. Connect them with glue, wire them on, hot glue gun or what ever other idea you come up with.

A CRITTER NECKLACE

As I was making Critters for the Shgawnee Gem and Mineral Society Booth for the upcoming Free Fair. An idea came to me on a way to make some into necklaces. I had been making these Critters using round marbles, half marbles and beads. I have found that using E6000 Glue is the best to hold these together. I take a half marble and glue a star bead on top of  it.(Holds what ever you glue better). ThenI glue a half or round marble on of the star bead. Then a three point bead on top of that. Different color beads help set it off. On top of the three point bead you glue a Pony Bead large or small for whatever size cord or ribbon is to be used. The Pony Bead should be place so that when a cord or ribbon is run through it that it hangs with face forward.Glue or paint eyes and paint a mouth.

A 4 INCH GRINDER

A portable hand Grinder that can be used to polish your rocks. You can also find different 4 inch grits for the grinder.

Are you ready to start working on your stones?

1. Place Grinder on left side of a table.

2. On the right side of the table place a containerwith a sponge, washcloth or face towl folded that is in small amount of water.

3. Be sure to wear Safety Glasses.

Now take your stone and dip on wet sponge or wet cloth. Turn your Grinder on holding with left hand and start grinding. You dip your stone several times as needed to keep the stone from getting too hot and reduce dust. It would be a good idea to have a towel to dry your hands on and any water that may get on the table.

Now if your left-handed just set up in the reverse order of above instructions.

This article by George Finley of Grinders that were used in the Demo area of several shows.
