Applications are welcomed from undergraduate and graduate students from any college or university with a 3.2 (B) average and above, who have had atleast one course on Ancient Near Eastern history or archaeology and/or an archaeology field school or a course on the methods employed by archaeologists in research.

The 2008 season begins in late May and lasts until the end of October. Students from the US are invited to participate during the month of June. Students will be trained in field methods and assist where needed under the super vision of the project staff, including the recording of finds and the collation of plans of excavated remains. Students will be assigned field duties and learn to draw finds in the camp laboratory each evening.

Orientation for the program will be in Ankara with a visit to the Anatolian Museum and other historical sites (modern) such as the Ataturk Mausoleum before

students
traveling to Kutahya. Students will learn about the specific material culture of Seyitomer Hoyuk on site, and listen to the discussions as the staff reports the collective achievements of various excavation units. The work meek is Monday to Saturday.

Students will recieved 3 academic credits for successful completetion of the program. Grading will be assigned based upon the quality of the field experience, including interaction with other students and the professionals, and how well the integrate what they are taught into their assigned tasks.
