Warrior Master
From Wookieepedia, the Star Wars Wiki.
A Warrior Master, usually known as a Jedi Guardian, was an honorific given to a Jedi Master whose skills and talents lay in battle.
They often concentrated on martial training and combat and usually engaged in combat more than any other Jedi, though they were no less skilled at diplomacy. Like all Jedi, they were keepers of the peace, acting as a kind of special police force for the Republic. It was said that guardians carried blue lightsabers; however, this was not always the case.
According to legend, it was two Warrior Masters along with the two Sage Masters who constructed the Jedi Temple on the galactic capital of Coruscant.

Sage Master
From Wookieepedia, the Star Wars Wiki.
A Sage Master (sometimes called Jedi Consular) was, like all Jedi, skilled in battle, but rarely entered combat, preferring to study the mysteries of the Force. Sage Masters were the primary scholars and diplomats of the Order, often becoming instructors.
They often preferred the Niman or the Ataru fighting style. The Niman was ideal because the Sage Master had more time to practise political and Force skills than combat ones.
What the Warrior Master preferred to achieve by combat, the Sage Master achieved by words or the Force.
Two Sage Masters joined with two Warrior Masters to build the initial Jedi Temple on Coruscant.
Behind the scenes
- The use of the term Jedi Consular is usually limited to the Star Wars Roleplaying Game. The most famous of these were Masters Yoda and Coleman Trebor. Following her training, Leia Organa Solo also became a consular.
- While the Jedi classes are non-canon, it can be observed that Jedi Guardians Mace Windu and Obi-Wan Kenobi both use their lightsabers to deflect Force Lightning attacks while Jedi Consular Yoda uses the Force for the same purpose.
