Q. When do you post new chapters?
A. I’m going to be straight forward: I honestly can’t give you a definite answer. Balancing out all my activities takes a lot of effort and I will always make time for writing/editing. Another reason I don’t like to give a specific time as to when new chapters are published, simply because I don’t like to rush my writing; rushing anything to meet the time constraint tends to lead toward sloppy work and cause creativity to go down the drain. Trust me on this one, when my writing is rushed, there is nowhere near as much detail verses when my writing is not on a time limit. In order to stay on top of newly published chapters, I invite you to join the emailing list. It takes less than a minute to fill out and you also get exclusive previews to new or upcoming chapters/content. I highly recommend you join to avoid having to check back daily (unless, of course, if you’re into that).
Q. Can you write faster?
A. To put it bluntly, no. As explained above, you don’t want to read my half-assed writing; it’s terrible. Creativity should never be rushed, whether it is writing, drawing, or school work. Besides writing, I do edit my own work after it’s finished. Sometimes I even send it to my friend Jessica so she can edit it for me. She catches errors I can’t and with her being in a completely different time-zone, it takes a couple days for the draft to come back revised.
Q. Where do you find the pictures you use?
A. All of the pictures I use on my site, specifically the character pictures, are copyrighted to their intended owners and I claim no ownership over them. I find a majority of them on Google or DeviantArt. If an owner of a picture wants their work taken down, I completely understand and respect their decision. Please email admin@serenenightmare.com stating which picture it is and where it is located.
Q. Is Serene Nightmare your real name?
A. No, it is not. It’s simply a pen name.
Q. Do you write under any other name?
A. No, I do not. If you find any site claiming to have myself on it, has any of my original work posted, or has my original work edited in any way to change and claim it, it is false. I have all my networks where I have personally listed my stories or poems on the sidebar. Please contact me directly serene@serenenightmare.com included a link to the site and, if possible, a screenshot of my copyrighted work being used in any way/shape/form without my approval. I appreciate it very much for any leads you provide me with.
Q. I’m writing a story, could you read and review it?
A. Unfortunately with my time being limited, I cannot promise I will be able to get around to reading it and give it a review. You are welcome to send me a link and only if I have time will I take a look at it. Thank you in advance for understanding.
Q. Can you host my story on your site?
A. At this time, I will not be able to host anyone except myself and close friends on my site. I apologize in advance and sincerely thank you for thinking of me. Maybe in the near future, either my staff or I will create a forum, hosted by my site, for readers to post their own work. It is neither a definite yes nor no.
