Tuesday, June 21st

Job Shadows & Professionalism

Students will practice professional introductions.
Students will have the opportunity for 1-2 job shadowing experiences throughout the summer.
Students will form small groups to create a list of questions to use during job shadows.

Homework: Job Shadow Questions (due by 4pm Tuesday, June 21st)

Wednesday, June 22nd

Personal Statements

There are 2 personal statements you will need for the UW System application: (1) "What you can offer" Personal Statement, and (2) “Goals" Personal Statement. Additionally you need a 50-100 word statement about your involvement in extracurricular activities. Today we will be focusing on the activity statement

Review the Personal Statement PowerPoint prior to beginning.
Use the Activities Statement Worksheet for brainstorming.
After brainstorming, begin writing an Activities Statement.

Homework: Activities Statement (due by 4pm Wednesday, June 22nd).

Due: Activity Statement by 4pm

Thursday, June 23rd

Work day

Begin working on the "What you can offer" Personal Statement.
Start by brainstorming topics and ideas with the "What can you offer" Personal Statement Worksheet.
Your Personal Statements will go through many drafts and revisions. Both, Brad and I will alternate reading, proofing, and providing suggestions.

Homework: "What you can offer" Personal Statement (1st Draft due by 4pm Tuesday, June 28th).
