During this busy time I will  update URGENT as quickly as possible, removing those that didn't make it immediately and those that have rescue or adoption after a very short update time to allow the focus to remain on the many in need.

Ebony is a sweetheart, a real lady. Walks nicely on lead, happy to be handled & ignored other dogs to & from the run. Ebony showed nice body language with a child (10yo). She has some arthritis consistent with her age but really enjoyed her walk outside.

SAFE with JRT Rescue!

Jacks owner has deceased but unfortunately we have no other information.
In the cage Jack was timid but sat for lead to be put on.
In the stand and ignore he stood at the end of the lead.
In the withdrawal of affection he stood at the end of the lead.
In the guide and place he was very soft and allowed both the sit and drop.
In the stranger danger he startled slightly but recovered quickly.
In the kid test he made polite contact.
Jack was our small dog tester and was good with most dogs but would not tolerate boisterous dogs.
In the correction on the chain Jack seemed puzzled about the whole exercise.
He was easy to motivate with treats and knows sit.
He would suit a novice owner.
He would have low activity levels.
A cute little man that at times looked like a cartoon dog.

The cost of purchasing a dog from the Wyong Shire Animal Care Facility is:

$180 male dog and $220 female dog, this includes desexing and immunising + $15 or $40 for lifetime registration (pensioner or non-pensioner) + $5 microchipping fee.

The facility is located off Depot Road, Charmhaven and is open seven days a week between 9.30am and 4.30pm. (02) 4350 5353

The cost of adopting a dog, from Port Stephen’s Animal Refuge, is $195. This includes, De-sexing, Initial Vaccination, Micro-chipping & Lifetime Registration. The Refuge accepts EFPOS, Credit Cards, & Cash. They do not accept cheques.

Canterbury Council contracts Fairford Road Animal Hospital to board stray animals from the Canterbury Municipality.

Directions: drive along Canterbury Road, turn into Gow Street, first on your right is Short Street, drive to the end and you are in the parking lot.

Adoption costs: cats $105

                            dogs $230

Adoption costs include first vaccination, worming, desexing and microchipping.
If the animal is over 6 months council registration is $40 additional.

We only have a short time to find homes for those dogs and puppies assessed suitable for sale. Please register your interest in a dog or puppy by contacting the pound on 02 6676 6060.
