Self-Correcting Ink!

Well, it's the next best thing. Revision notes from my AS subjects; I thought I'd share the joy.

Bienvenue!

Hey...

I don't know about anybody else, but as it comes up to exam time, I frantically condense the year's work into note form, wishing I'd done it months ago. Usually I only have about 3 days to use these revision notes before the exam, which seems rather pointless. So, in a fit of surprising initiative from moi, I thought: why not share the joy?

So here it is, a whole load of painfully repetitive, dull, yet necessary memorising-material. At least you don't have to read the textbooks

I did the AQA Psychology AS, which has 6 units:

Cognitive Psychology

Attachment

Stress

Abnormality

Social Influence

Research Methods

Each as fantastically unstimulating as the other. Excepting, maybe, Research Methods, which made me want to chew my hand off with sheer boredom.

As I said before, these are VERY last minute notes and so do not explain certain terms etc. If you don't understand a term, chances are you'll find a definition in the Research Methods bit (well, it's good for something, I s'pose).

Key:

  • Researcher's Names are in BLUE (don't worry if you can't remember all of them, they don't actually get you any marks unless a b) question is asking for a specific study)
  • Criticism, obviously, is in RED because I'm a bit predictable really (this does include positive points, on some topics) but
  • Positive evaluations are sometimes in GREEN
  • Topic-related terms are in PURPLE because it's such a fantastic colour

PS - I'm sorry about the whole girly colour scheme, but there are just so many purples...I couldn't resist it.

PPS - once I work out a cunning way to get a forum-type thing AND fit all my notes on this site, you can e-mail me if you have any problems with the AS Psychology course. I also have answers to all the 6mk past paper questions for Abnormality and Social Influence, as well as a few essays. Once the e-mail thingy's up and running I'd be quite happy to send these documents to anyone who wants them. Oh, for now, you can contact me as fire-faery on www.thestudentroom.co.uk.

Links

If you need more help for revision, there are several websites that I found useful:

www.s-cool.co.uk has some basic revision notes and tests (multiple choice and a few past paper questions)

www.revisiontime.com/alevel_psychology has a list of loads of links, some of which are okay, some completely irrelevant, but if you're looking to do extra research this is probably very useful

www.psychology.org/ is a searchable psychology "encyclopaedia" and it also has a funky little translate button for when you get bored

www.freewebs.com/self-correcting-ink2 and, of course...more notes! these are for the first few modules of A2 work.
