Awd Mon - Old Man.

Bacon - A word used at Long Rope , calling for the rope to be turned very fast.

Backs - A game like leap frog , going over the back lengthways.

Bank - The space between the rails & the hedge behind the boys garden.

Bargullies - Young birds.

Barley Ghost - A ghost was so called from an unlucky mistake made by a boy in saying the first answer of the Angelus.

Beef - A call at Long Rope for the rope to be turned slowly.

Bells - Long Rope again. Swing it from side to side.

Belly Band. - The string of the kite.

Bender - A brier or hoop on the kite.

Bounce - To make a ball rebound .

Bread & Cheese - Leaves of the hawthorn hedge around the Park.

Broth - Melted tallow of a snuffed out candle.

Bull Beef- A game played with stakes struck into wet clay.

Bull Roar - A flat piece of wood whirled round to create a roaring noise.

Cabbage - To appropriate the composition of another.

Candle - The mark made by a shoe in the ice.

Chotties or Teotties - Potatoes.
