Second Cinema

This month Second Cinema had the pleasure sitting down with Nic Beery, (Beery Media and Carrboro Film Festival) to discuss the upcoming Second Annual Carrboro Film Festival. We had Beery on last year and it was a real treat to have him back on the show to promote this up and coming festival. If you want to watch our interview online, check it out here. Follow the links above to find out more info, but the key info is below:

Second Annual Carrboro Film Festival will be taking place on Sunday, November 18 from 2-7 pm at the Carrboro Century Center. Here's the submission form. Deadline for submission is September 20th.

This month we also had a chance to screen Ben Snyder's Watermelon Honey. The film's description on their myspace reads:

" When Chris comes home from a year away in seminary, challenged by ideas his provincial upbringing never revealed, he expects the comfortable assurances of home, and a warm reception from his fiancee Lynette. But Lynette has spent the year as a missionary in the third world, and has returned home harder and colder than she was before. Her father and his mother, the owners of neighboring farms, expect them to be married -- the same kind of perfect marriage their watermelon flowers and bees produce every summer. But Chris and Lynette must confront their own changed perspectives on the world to discover whether the love they felt was destined, or a convenience destined to end. "

Visit them online at Myspace: Watermelon Honey and screen the film online here.
