There are Lots of ways that you can promote your show ranging from Posters in local newsagents through to a Full on TV Campaign. below are some of the methods that may help in promoting your show.
The Theatre
Make Full use of your Venues Own Advertising services if they have any, Most Venues have mail shots to their Customers with whats on and if you use their Box Office services your show should be listed.
Banners
These are really good especially if you can get them put up in the local Town Centre
Leaflets / Booking Forms
This can be as simple as placing booking forms in your Local Scout Shop or arranging for a Leaflet drop in the Local area.
Bag Packing Day
Contact your local Supermarket and arrange a day for Cast and Crew to pack bags for their Shoppers. remember to take plenty of leaflets and why not do it in costume
Local Newspapers
Place an Ad in your Local Newspaper but at the same time contact the News desk to tell them about the show, most local papers are only to happy to run with a local story and even send photographers
Web Sites
If your show has a Web Site make sure it is listed with all your Local Scouting Sites including County and District Sites. It is aslo worth looking at Local Council Websites as these often have Local Events pages. Also a good way to increase traffic to your site is to create links to and from other shows so that visitors to one Web Site will then be able to link through to details about your show

Local Radio
Contact your Local Radio Station Asking them to do a peice about the show, they may even send their outside broadcast unit to a rehearsal. If they are not interested then an easy fix is to get cast and crew to call in for dedications each time the Radio has a Request show. getting the cast to dedicate a song to all the other cast members.
TV
This being a special year for Scouting Local TV companies are looking for stories to do with Scouts and Gangshow is Ideal. They will either do a small item in their whats on section or if you are really lucky they may even send a film crew. It is always worth asking local dignitaries or even your M.P. to reheasals, or to the show, because this will then give the media an angle.
