Rumors have been surfacing about Coach N. McMillan's possible interest in the expansion franchise in N. Carolina. McMillan has recently made comments that he is still unsure weather he will be back with the Sonics next year. This of course may also imply to those interested that he is looking at the Charlotte franchise as a possibility. According to the Tacoma News Tribune's Frank Hughes, an ESPN.com contributor, the Sonics probably will be shopping for a point guard in the draft. They are not sold on their current prime candidates, including newly-acquired Kevin Ollie and the current starter, converted shooting guard Brent Barry. Hughes writes the Sonics are likely to draft a point guard -- Texas' T.J. Ford, Oregon's Luke Ridnour and Kansas' Kirk Hinrich are expected to be among the top candidates. Barry might return to being a sixth man. "I mean, we'll see what happens in the offseason, what kind of moves the organization makes," Barry told the News Tribune. "I hope to be around here. I know they will have some decisions to make. I have come off the bench before." |
