The Bills officialy signed K R. Lindell on Monday with Seattle refusing to match the offer sheet. The Seahawks have been bringing in some FA's to meet with the past week. Most noteably MLB Earl Holmes (CLEV), and DE Chike Okeafor (SF). No news on if either has been offered a contract or how interested either are in joining the team. OL Jerry Wunsch resigned with the Seahawks last week for 2yr $1.8 mil with a $500k signing bonus. Wunsch while not one of the more important re-signings, he is expected to compete for the starting RG spot. At the very least this gives the Seahawks some added depth at OL for the season. This will be especially important it LT W. Jones holds out again this fall. John Randle has re-structured his 5yr $25 mil contract to give the Seahawks back $2 mil for this year to help sign some Def. FA's. Randle is in the 3rd year of his 5yr contract. Randle making this move helps the Seahawks in more than a few ways. There have been a few rumors abound that the hawks may be interested in releasing Randle June 1st to ease up some cap space. Now Randle has cemented his position with the team and will be with us again this fall. K Ryan Lindell is expected to be signed by the Buffalo Bills early next week. The Bills have offered the RFA a 4yr $4.2 mil. contract. The Seahawks are not expected to match the offer and are more than willing to let the mediocore K leave. The hawks originaly offered a 1yr contract worth $609,000 almost doubling last years salary of $375,000. The Seahawks have been slammed again!! Jim Armstrong of ESPN's "Page 2", lists the Seahawks as one of sports 10 worst Franchises. On his list the Seahawks come in 9th with Mr. Armstrong at one point actually calling the Seahawks the "Seadogs". I thought I left that kind of bad mouthing at the bar last year. Jim Armstrongs' everyday job is as a sports columnist for the Denver Post. I wonder what he thinks of his Broncos signing the QB from his #3 team on his list (ARZ). Free Agent DE Vonnie Holliday visited with Matt Hasselbeck and former coaches Mike Holmgren and Ray Rhodes. He left with a very positive outlook on the Seahawks. Holliday visited with Arizona earlier in the week and has no other visits scheduled. Third down king, WR Bobby Engram re-signed with the Seahawks on Tuesday. The Deal is believed to be a 4-year contract worth nearly $6 million with $2 million paid this year. Veteran P Jeff Feagles agreed to terms March 4 on a contract with the Giants, ending his 5-year run with the Seahawks. Citing an unidentified source, the News Tribune of Tacoma said the contract is for five years with a $500,000 signing bonus. The contract is believed to pay the veterans minimum of $750,000 each year. |
