Mariner closer Kazuhiro Sasaki may be held out of the season opener with Oakland on April 1. Sasaki has not pictched since March 15 and has been experiencing soreness in his right shoulder. Jeff Nelson and Arthur Rhodes are expected to fill in as closers if needed. Sasaki had bone chips removed from his right elbow last Oct. 28 in Japan.
Spokane: The Gonzaga Bulldogs took the Arizona Wildcats to 2 overtimes before finally coming up just short. The zags had to play both overtimes without two of their starters while the wildcats still had their starting group. "Congradulations to the Gonzaga Bulldogs in their loud statement in the NCAA tournament.

The Mariners season opener in Japan has been canceled and the Mariners will open their season in Oakland. Looking for a bright side to the cancelation, the Mariners get extra time in spring training to decide on their opening day roster. Currently the Mariners have not made a final decision on the 11 pitchers they will bring up with them. Two rookies are making a huge impact and are expected to make the teams decision difficult.

March 12: The Seahawks kept on rolling with the FA's when the signed former NY Giants punter Rodney Williams. Williams is a 2 yr. vetran originaly drafted by the St. Louis Rams in the seventh round in 1999. His punting avg. last year was 5th in the NFC ( tied 10th NFL) and was 9th in the NFC in net yardage.

On March 11 the Seahawks signed FA FS Damien Robinson to replace FS Marcus Robertson who was released earlier this year. Robinson, 29, has played for the Bucaneers and most recently for the NY Jets. Originaly drafted in the fourth round 1997 out or Iowa by Ray Rhodes when he was coaching with the Eagles.

March 11: LRP Norm Charlton's career is more than likely over. After haveing an MRI test and it showing another tear in his shoulder will have to undergo surgery again. All during the spring he has been experiencing pain during throwing exersizes and has yet to see any game-time action. 40-yr old Charlton refuses to give up saying that if it's possible for him to pitch again, he's going to try.

The Seahawks have been slammed again!! Jim Armstrong of ESPN's "Page 2", lists the Seahawks as one of sports 10 worst Franchises. On his list the Seahawks come in 9th with Mr. Armstrong at one point actually calling the Seahawks the "Seadogs". I thought I left that kind of bad mouthing at the bar last year. Jim Armstrongs' everyday job is as a sports columnist for the Denver Post. I wonder what he thinks of his Broncos signing the QB from his #3 team on his list (ARZ).
