The hair might be gone but the humour remains! A huge thanks to all of those who gave a donation to the Cops for Cancer event during Baie Verte Come Home Year. The event raised about $1,300 for the Cancer Society and Daffodil House in St. John’s. Pictures of the event can be found on the parish website in the photo galleries: www.freewebs.com/sealcoveanglicanparish

A Financial Update on Parish Finances…

Parish Council met at St. Paul’s, Baie Verte on September 4th and the following was reported as our current financial position:

Our total income to this point in the year is $51,095.54

Our total expenditures to this point in the year is $52,662.79

The balance brought forward from 2007 $2,194.51

Which leaves on hand a balance of (Sept 2nd) $627.26

It was noted that to fulfill our budget for this year, we are going to need about $31,000. Now it is recognized that this is the time of year that people will catch up on their donations or will make their yearly contribution to their churches. We have come some distance this summer and yet we have a hill still to climb. Good news is we can meet this challenge! We can do this! Please keep in mind that giving needs to be a constant and year round habit. The Parish has expenses which it has to meet each and every month. We all need to remember that what we receive and the things we possess are gifts from God. This means that what we give giving to the work of the Church, locally and globally goes back to God. We are blessed as a parish to be a blessing to each person who is our neighbour .
