This site is dedicated to Santo Domingo international airport. This site contains frequent upadates and info on the airport as well as a photo page and a flight schedule.

Santo Domingo International consits of eight remote gates which are attached to Terminal 1, and  Four remote stands attached to Terminal 2.

SDQ has a maintenance center as well as a cargo area. The cargo area has one remote stand but one more can be added.

Currently DHL and FED EX are the only cargo carriers to have schduled cargo service to SDQ, Air France Cargo and Volga-Dnepr opperate charter cargo flights into SDQ.

Air Santo Domingo is the main airline at SDQ they opperate a fleet of three leased aircraft and one owned aircraft.

A Boeing 757-300 leased from Iceland Air
A MD-11 owned by Air Santo Domingo
A Airbus A330-200 leased from Air Greenland
A Airbus A330-300 long term lease from SN Brussels (Birdy)

They fly to  San Juan, New York, Miami, Madrid, Sau Paulo, and Cancun, Mexico from Santo Domingo.

Air Santo Domingo code shares with American Eagle on there flight to SJU.

Air Santo Domingo Update-

Air Santo Domingo has bought there first aircraft,a MD-11 leased from Swiss.
The MD-11 HB-IWC has been flown back to Zurich to have a D check and be installed with an Air Santo Domingo interior.
Air Santo Domingo plans to introduce a new livery to this MD-11. Currently Air Santo Domingo has wet leased a SN Brussels (Birdy) A330-300 to fly the SDQ-GRU leg until the MD-11 returns for matience.

This is a big step for Air Santo domingo, and the airline hopes its a positive one.



-UPDATE
HB-IWC has arrived back in Santo Domingo. The plane has been painted in a revised livery, still to be worked on a little in SDQ. The MD-11 will be unviled to the public on January 5, 2005. Here is a sneak peak of the livery:

Update-
Air Santo Domingo has now a long term lease on the Birdy A330-300. This A330-300 will be used to opperate the SDQ-GRU route. The flight to JFK will now be routed SDQ-MIA-JFK-SDQ. The MD-11 HB-IWC will be put back in service on January 5,2005 instead of January 2. The MD-11 will be used to opperate a new flight to Cancun, Mexico. The SDQ-MAD service will stay as it is, and same thing with the American Eagle code-share flight to SJU.





Updates
-January 1, 2005

- Air Santo Domingo will start service to Miami again. The flight to New York will stop in Miami on the way there. There is a 45 minute stop in Miami.

- Air Santo Domingo will start a Santo Domingo- Cancun flight starting January 5. This route will be served with a MD-11 and will be daily.

-December 29, 2004

-  SDQ is going to start a museum of aircraft. The first aircraft to be donated to the museum is a Air Spain DC-8 this plane will arrive within weeks.

- Britannia will start a daily service to SDQ from London-Gatwick. The serivce is a winter/spring service. The flight is opperated with a B757-200.

-Corsair will be starting a Paris Orly, St. Marteen, Santo Domingo service with F-GSEX. The service will acompany the SDQ-ORY direct fight with F-GSUN.

- American Airlines anounces a daily weekend service meaing Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays to DAO/AADA
the flight will leave SDQ at 1:17 PM, the flights to MIA will not fly on the weekends. This service will be served with a B737-800. The flight # is  AA 0990/0991

- In a sad and surprising move, Alitalia now plans to drop all services to SDQ. The airline opperated a daily MD-11 flight to SDQ from MXP and was in talks to add a FCO flight. The last flight will be operated on January 4, 2005.

- December 28, 2004

-US Airways is planning to start  more than a couple daily flights to Walt Disney International in Florida. The flight will be opperated with a B757-200, and the US Airways flights to PHL will be updated to a A330-300.
- Alitalia will start a second daily service to SDQ from FCO, there current flight opperates in from MXP. The MXP flight will be flown by a B767-300 while the FCO flight will be opperated with a MD-11.

-December 27, 2004

- The photo page has been updated with some photos.
- Corsair flight #2131 slid off the runway at SDQ today, Know one was injured, the plane was on its way to Paris Orly.
Air France has sent a back up B777-300ER to cover the Air France and the Corsair flight, it is the first time a 773ER goes to SDQ, photos will follow.

-December 26, 2004

- Air Santo Domingo discontinues there service to MIA, due to the fact that there 757-200 lease ended. Air Santo Domingo opperated a daily flight to MIA.
- Air Santo Domingo starts a code share service with American Eagle to SJU.

-December 25, 2004

-BMI starts a daily service to SDQ from MAN
- Martin Air starts a daily winter season service to SDQ from AMS
- LTU and Thomas Cook star a twice daily service from DUS to SDQ
-Lufthansa starts daily service to SDQ from FRA
- VS opperates its first schduled flight into SDQ starting a daily service from LHR
- Air Santo Domingo ingnurates service to Sau Paulo, Brazil from SDQ
