Southampton City Youth Parliament (SCYP) is a committee of youths between the ages of 11-18.
It discusses up to date matters which are of great importance to the youths of today. SCYP meets once a month at the council chambers in Southampton, Hampshire, England. In the past SCYP has discussed Racism, Anti-social Behaviour and how the youth of today are portrayed in the newspapers of today's society.
SCYP is also chaired by the current UK Youth MP for Southampton, and also has a permanent guest of the first UK Youth MP for Southampton to help us with our work.
SCYP has also just had its new chairperson found through the UK Youth MP elections. The new UK Youth MP will shadow the current ones until they take over the role in January completely.
SCYP has also just had the leaflet redone (yay!) Which has more information about SCYP and what it does. If you would like a copy of the leaflet then please contact someone from our contacts page with your address and we will have a leaflet sent out to you.
