I am an artist in Seattle, Washington. My style is very naturalistic (realistic), emphasizing perspective and effects of light. My medium is acrylic paint, which allows me to capture vivid colors and the full range of light and dark value. Essentially self-taught as a painter, I am influenced not by current trends in contemporary art but by great artists of the past such as Vermeer, Degas and Hopper. My subject matter is modern-day life in Seattle and wherever I travel: landscapes urban and natural, scenes of public activity and private reflection. Several years ago I visited Paris for the first time and found it particularly inspiring. I return often and explore other parts of Europe as well.
I have sold my work on the daytables of Pike Place Market since 2003 and am also represented by Fountainhead Gallery in Seattle.
