"2009 sees 140 Years of Glasgow Theatre Royal - and still going strong."

A new book "THE THEATRE ROYAL : Entertaining a Nation" by Society member Graeme Smith, and former theatre director, celebrates the Theatre Royal and its part in entertaining in Scotland and England. Pantomimes for 90 years , plays, spectaculars, silent films, circuses, variety, ballet, opera and television grew up with the Royal. It is also the birthplace of Howard & Wyndham Ltd. The book has 312 pages and over 400 illustrations and details of it are on our Latest Book Releases page please click here, and net proceeds of sales to Society members and friends go to the Society.

Membership Offer

If you join the Scottish Music Hall and Variety Theatre Society in the month of July, you will receive your membership which will be paid until 31 August 2010. If you wish to join, please click here and print off a copy of the Membership Form and post to our Hon Secretary. The Annual Subscription is £12.00 for UK, £14.00 overseas and £18.00 joint membership. _____________________________________________
