Beginning in the late 1980s, Stephen traveled from the Caribbean and Yucatan Peninsula, to Canada's great Northwest. During this time he continued to write. True stories and poems of the supernatural, haunted lighthouses, Inns with hidden past. Things that some feared to speak of. His journeys though different cultures influenced his art as well. After many awards in the 1990s, the collection of art and poetry published in his first book," Mystic Poems " ISBN 1-4137-2250-4, and his second book," Mystic Navigation " ISBN 1-4241-1240-0. " Mystic Realms" ISBN 1-4241-5286-0 is different from the first two. It is a little darker, as the author reflects on love, life, and faith.

Red Rose in the Snow

As I look into your eyes
you speak to me,
as you never had before.
I am lost so... in the moment
that will last forevermore.

Vernal anatomy we were
passion marked our every move.
When our time together
made the world disappear,
as I held you so tender.

Oh my love, our souls
became that of just one.
My heart beats for you
till heaven come undone,
gave way to stars on dark blue.

This be it our love
while time will hold true.
I cannot vision a time
where I stand without you.
For it would never be sublime.

Senescence shared we have
passions full bloom.
With sunsets deep perception
anticipating the full moon.
In the fall of changing seasons.

For it is true about love
that it never leaves
when you watch it grow.
Though now it sleeps
I place a red rose in the snow.
A Red Rose...in the snow.
