Larry and I (Sparky) started SCIPP several years ago. We originally deemed our group "ghostracker" but as our group began to grow last year, the name did not cover what the group was about so, we ended up changing the name to SCIPP, which stands for Society of Christians Investigating Paranormal Phenomenon. The original group was started in 2004 but became SCIPP in 2006.
We are located in Jacksonville, Illinois and are in the process of becoming a legal organization with the Sate of Illinois. We are small right now but are growning, which is so exciting. We are looking forward to new members and new investigations and even now, the possibility of working with other investigation groups. If you are interested in becoming a member, please feel free to contact Larry with an interest request on our "contact us" page.
SCIPP is comprised of a group of individuals from various career backgrounds and some religious backgrounds. We share a common goal in helping people. Our members have experience dealing with the paranormal because of events that have happened to them. We currently have five members. Larry, who is the founder and lead investigator, Sparky, I am a founder, lead investigator and PR manager. I also design and maintenance our site and other book work. We have a couple people that are interested in joining our group but have not yet started or completed the application process.
Our group is non-profit and rooted in Christian Faith. We use the Bible as our guide book and our faith as our protection. We do not force our beliefs on other people and do respect other beliefs as well. We go into investigations to help people and to discover truth of the spiritual side of the world we live in. We do believe that there is another "world" if you will, out there and it is waitng to be explored. That is why this group was started and why we are all part of the group!
"Beloved, do not trust every spirit but test the spirits to see whether they belong to God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can know the Spirit of God: every spirit that acknowledges Jesus Christ come in the flesh belongs to God, and every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus does not belong to God..." 1 John 4:1-4
