Board maintanence

Looking after your board is very important to stop it from falling to pieces so be aware of the following :

  • Wooden boards have a protective waterproofing applyed when being finnished, this does not last forever! so we suggest that depending on how often you use your board, say every weekend,  you re-varnish ( especially the under side) it every 2 months or so.
  • After every session check for splits on both sides and also look for chips on the rails. If you find any and they're not severe, dry the board out completely then use a epoxy resin or a non mix fibreglass resin and use it as a filler
  • Deformation of the board can occur when too much left or too much right turning can deform the board due to the uneven pressures being applyed. There is not alot you can do too overcome this problem, everybody has a individual style and so it can not be determined untill it actually happends. Other reasons for deformation is tricks like rail grabs when your pulling on only one rail to perform sharp snap turns.
