Any employee on earth has a supervisor, a manager,... It is the case for you also, you must have a boss that make your life unsupportable and you wish if you can kill him. This is what pushes most employees to think about leaving their current jobs. But the same story will repeat itsel again and again.
You should show your boss that he is the most intelligent and most brillant to help you advance in the right path. because at the end, he remains an employee and every employee feels insecure in his position and he will do the impossible to protect himself.
If you do the opposit, your boss will think that you are aiming to take over his position and you want to show his superiors that you are more qualified than him. gain your boss as an ally instead of as enemy.
This insecurity will push your boss to never give you more opportunities, and he will start thinking about how to eliminate you before you do so. As you think of advancing into the hierarchical ladder and you never look back, make sure that your boss do the same.
Here is a little story about an employee and his manager.
One day, a marketing specialist has received a request from his boss to present a new product for the board of executives. the employee was very excited in such an opportunity. He made an excellent job, his presentation was one of the best ever given before. He presented very professionally the new product and everyone was happy with it. At this moment the employee was on stage as a star, all eyes focusing at him. This act eliminated his boss from under the spot which led to declaring war between them.
Since that day, the boss started treating him as an enemy by giving him unimportant tasks, prohibited him from participating in delivering presentations to important audience....
If instead, the employee focussed on the efforts of his boss in making this presentation, and talked about his guidance and assistance even if it is not true, he would be the first one to be recommended for new promotions at that company and he would get more chances to reappear again and again in front of the executive board.
The rule is : "Never show to your boss that you are more brilliant than him, do exactly what he asks you to accomplish and create a comfortable position for him in fornt of his superiors so that he guarantees a comfortable position for you."
Always think about making those above you feel more comfortable, more secure and please them to the extent that they stop thinking about getting rid of you. But instead make them think to keep you with them forever. So as they keep advancing the ladder, they will automatically pull you with them, giving you more advantages and more benefits because they feel secure with you more than with any foreigner.
