Required Travel Documents
All visitors to Schwerdt must have a valid passport and a valid visa. Your country of citizenship issues your passport. Obtain a visa from the Social Republic of Schwerdt.
Applying for a Visa
You can file the application form directly with the Ministry for Domestic Affairs or at any Schwerdtan embassy or consulate. Reisebüro can help with this process. Typical processing time is 2 to 4 weeks, including time in the post. Expedited service is available at a charge. Unlike many other countries, Schwerdt does not charge a direct fee for processing standard visa applications.
Your visa application must include the following original documents:
- Completed visa application form
- Original, valid passport with at least one blank endorsement page
- One passport-sized color photograph (5cm by 5 cm [2in by 2in])
- Proof of identity such as certified or notorised copy of governmentally issued photographic identification card or driving license
- Proof of citizenship such as certified copy of birth certificate, naturalisation documents, or adoption records
- International certificate of vaccinations
- Certificate of insurance to cover the cost of any medical care that may be incurred during the visit to Schwerdt
Granting of Visas
The visa granting authority has sole discretion in the type of visa, if any, it may grant. Once granted, the visa may be used any time until its expiry. You must extend your visa if it will expire during your visit. Remaining in Schwerdt with an expired passport or visa, or falsification of any part of the visa application packet, is a middle crime in Schwerdt. There is a RM 10,00 processing fee for visa extension requests, which may be made before or after entering Schwerdt.
Schwerdtan Passports
The Social Republic of Schwerdt issues passports only to its citizens. Citizens may apply for a passport by submitting the application form and required fee. In accordance with current international standards, each person must have his/her own passport, regardless of age. The individual named in the passport must collect the passport at the local police post. Verification of identify must occur before the passport may be released.
