Where In The World Is Schwerdt?
Schwerdt is on the southeastern shore of the Teuvian island on the Doranian continent. Sitting astride the equator, Schwerdt is between 10° North and 10° South latitude and from 101° to 115° East longitude.
Turia wraps around Schwerdt to the north, west, and south. The Wuhr River (so named for the heavy industrial activity located in its valley) forms the Turian-Schwerdtan border along the northwest. Schwerdt's border with Turia runs along the River Styx for about half of the southern frontier. The Graukopf Mountains demark the border with Turia in the southwest.
Schwerdt's eastern border consists of its shore on the Cisteuvian ocean.
Gradually rising from the coastal plain, Schwerdt's Graukopf mountains in the southwest have an average elevation of 1,624 meters. The tallest peak, at Obersalzberg, is 1,956 meters above sea level. The central plains, which make up about a third of the country, are gently rolling hills ideally suited for agriculture.
The southern foothills, averaging 817 meters above sea level, are rich in minerals and other natural resources. This region forms the headwaters for an extensive river system which serves both transportation and hydroelectric power needs.
