History
SCBC Calvary Fellowship is one of the newly established ministerial groups in 2008 for specific members of Scarborough Chinese Baptist Church (SCBC).
Approaching the end of 2007, two devoted counselors along with six courageous ordinary church members volunteered to pilot the forming of the first SCBC Calvary fellowship committee whose responsibilities would revolve around creating an environment for interested members to participate in the fellowship functions/activities in conjunction with the structural changes of the overall SCBC fellowship operation. With consideration to the uncertainties and challenges accompanying the structural changes, the support from Body Life department has been phenomenal and our pilot committee is paid with utmost respect in laying the infrasturture of the operation/administration for the SCBC Calvary Fellowship going forward.
SCBC Calvary Fellowship comprises of Chinese speakingmembers mainly from a specific age group ranging from 40 to 55 years young whose working experience rests in the range of 10-20 years. Though it is geared towards the relatively mature adults, you may still find some younger adult members who will inject some healthy dosages of group dynamic to the fellowship from time to time.
Members of this fellowship uphold the values of Christianity as specified in the SCBC Fellowship Handbook and Calvary Fellowship Handbook. There are specific ministerial and social functions/activities being organized within the fellowship regularly for the benefits of members in pursuance of living a Christ like life especially of experiencing Christ love in Calvary.
In 2008, SCBC Calvary Fellowship will focus on the relationship and bonding amongst members with the emphasis of encouraging all members to embrace this new beginning by binding our lives together through the reiteration of the love of Calvary . For sure, there will be many anticipated challenges on our way to accomplish this goal (please check out our action plan in "Program and Schedule" ), but then, we endeavor to live out our faith when the unanticipated challenges come around to plague us. Amen.
