Sal's Place

Welcome to my Daycare Site

Hi, my name is Sally and I have over 13 years of daycare experience to offer you.   I take great pride in being a Child Care Provider, and I am always honoured when a family chooses me to place their child with.    I do not take my chosen profession lightly, I am very aware that I am entrusted with the most precious thing in a person’s life, their child.  I am CPR and First Aid Certified and both my family and I have undergone police background checks.   My home has been made child safe, and is smoke free.

As a childcare provider, one of my goals is to provide an enjoyable daycare experience not only for the children but for the parents.    In addition,  my daycare provides a happy place where children can learn and grow physically, emotionally, intellectually and socially at their own pace, while sharing the experience with their daycare friends, and, of course having fun.

I supply a grandparent-like environment where the children are loved and made to feel secure to assist them in building a strong self image.    I enjoy encouraging the children to show their curiosity, imagination, and to strive to be well rounded individuals.    I also encourage them to make decisions, and to learn to enjoy trying things on their own such as tying their shoes and putting on their coats to promote motor skills, and self confidence.   I listen attentively to show my interest in what they have to say and to promote consistent use of their communication skills.   The children are taught to respect themselves and others and to learn patience.   We also encourage the children to learn some sign language, enabling some of our younger children to get their message across without frustration, while learning their words.

Our Daily Activities follow a very relaxed schedule, enabling us to change when required , as is needed with a group of children.   At times we may visit the local parks and playgrounds in the area.  Picnic when the weather is nice.    We will also take longer trips with parental agreement to the local zoo, splash parks, etc.     Outdoor time is always fun in our fully fenced play area in the backyard.  (Weather permitting for these activities).   During the year we participate in community events, such as local food drives and the walk for Sick Children’s Hospital to name a few.
