BANWEN & DISTRICT CANINE SOCIETY
25th November 2006
A huge thank you to all who entered under me for my first judging appointment and for taking my decisions with great sportsmanship. Also thank you to everyone connected with Banwen Canine Society and my 2 very efficient stewards Mark & Mike Davies who made it easy for me to concentrate on the dogs and last but by no means least our wonderful hosts Phil & Jayne Williams who provided us with food and accommodation and even drove us to the show. Thanks a million.
PUPPY (4,1)
1st Palmer’s – Naughty Noris, Red, white chest, 11mths, Good head shape, nice round dark eye, correct bite, ears a bit flighty, good body shape, strong backend, movement good. Won the class on his overall balance from another very nice puppy. Pleased to award him BP
2nd John’s – Welshstaff Latest News
3rd Evans’Ammanford Sure Shot
JUNIOR (7, 3)
1st Thomas’- Valglo Meridian at Samtan, b/br white chest,13 mths, Very nice dog, who has a lot going for him, Good head, correct eye and ear placement, good bite, nice body shape, in good fit condition. Topline held on the move. Lost out to the bitches in the final line-up because of his slightly erratic front movement.
2nd Hughes’ – Michways She’s The One With Mishdar
3rd Antonio’s – Blaze Yer Lad
GRADUATE (8, 3)
1st Hughes’- Michways She’s The One With Mishdar – When this Bl/br bitch walked into the ring and was stood by her handler I thought to myself what an absolute stunner. When it came to the hands on it was obvious though she hated every minute, as she hunched herself up. That aside what a stunning clean head and expression she has. Perfect for size, straight front and although she did her best to lose the junior class I saw enough in this class to give her first. Please get her fit and I hope it was just post season blues, as I think you will have lots of fun with her if she begins to enjoy herself.
2nd Antonio’s – Blaze Yer Lad
3rd Payne’s – Welshstaff Celtic Warrior
OPEN DOG (4)
1st John’s – Welshstaff Pearly Jack – Nice standard Bl/br dog with neat head although not strong enough for me. Straight front and nicely balanced keeping a level topline on the move. Seemed to lack that bit of sparkle today.
2nd Antonio’s – Blaze Yer Lad
3rd Wise’ – Varabic Vel Satis
OPEN BITCH (5,2)
1ST Pritchards – Foxstaff Mystic Magic – Upstanding Bl/br bitch that excels in every department. Excellent head shape, dark round eyes lovely neat rose ears giving a superb expression. Straight front, nice spring of rib, powerful backend all coming together to make a very well balanced animal well up on her toes and in gleaming condition. Never stopped showing and watched me wherever I went. Pleased to award her BOB.
2nd Hale & Kemp’s – Maxsta Caymen Queen at Caymenstaffs – Another Bl/br bitch of quality with virtually all the same attributes as 1. Where 1 beat 2 on head 2 beat 1 on body shape. I seem to be going through every point in the breed standard to determine a winner. Eventually I thought 1 just had that bit more Magic so to speak. Nevertheless two outstanding bitches who will win many things in the future I’m sure. Pleased to award her RBOB
3rd Reynolds – Jill’s Gem

18th November 2007
Many thanks to all who entered and to my two stewards. Although not a large entry, probably owing to a breed champ show on the same day, I was more than happy with the quality of the dogs entered.
Puppy ( 4, 1 abs )
1st Burch’s – Lamicheva Man Of The Moment , 8 months Pied dog, of very good quality. Very nice head & expression, although ears a little flighty, good straight front with good bone, good backend. Nice body shape for a young dog. Excellent topline and good mover the handler just needs to let him move by himself and stop stringing him up. Overall a quality dog who I’m sure you will have a lot of fun with. Best Puppy Dog & Reserve Best Dog
2nd Rogers – Berrystock Devils Advocate – Very much a baby, not as balanced as 1st. Would like to see him in 6 months.
3rd Graham’s – Mai Rebel
Junior ( 2, 1 abs)
1st Holcrofts – Jakamy’s Best Mate, B/Br, 13 months and although he stood alone I couldn’t take my eyes off him. Reminded me so much of my own Champion dog at this age. He is a top size dog but as we all know there is more than the height clause in the breed standard. He has a wonderful head of strength and depth, oozing breed type, lovely ears, dark eyes giving correct expression. Excellent mouth. Straight front with ample bone and good brisket, although I expect this will deepen with maturity. Good topline that he did keep on the move when he eventually settled. Nice body shape, in good hard condition. Has that bit of “look at me “attitude. If this dog is judged honestly he will most certainly make his mark at championship shows. Best Dog and Best of Breed on referee’s decision. Group 4
