Wigan Harriers U15 Athlete of the Year 2008

People have asked why we don't show much now well this is the reason. We have 3 talented sons. Daniel is our youngest , He is 15 and he is a very talented athlete who's ambition is to be the best he can be and represent his country at the Olympics. His dream is to do that at  London 2012, but he might be a little young then. He will only be 19. Although he has proven a lot of people wrong over the years. His attitude and dedication is fantastic and have no doubt he will achieve his dream. We are so proud of him. Hopefully we can find some sponsorship for him.

Medal ceremony. This is what makes his achievements so great he jumps above his own height.

He has competed at a few events since he started at 12. He has just got a new strength and conditioning coach, Trevor Painter who is the husband of Great Britain athlete Jennifer Meadows. Last year he won a AAA medal in the high jump and gained 6 power of 10 performance awards for Long Jump, High Jump, Pole Vault, 80 Hurdles, Javelin and Pentathlon. He represented his County, Greater Manchester at the English Schools Championships where he qualified for 4 events. He chose to do the hurdles, only the 3rd time he had done the event. Also the County Schools combined events where he finished 5 th overall.

His first love is the Long Jump but he loves the hurdles too.
