Examining the Past to Establish a Future/ Restoration Movement Information www.respress.info

Intro

This page is designed to help you navigate directly to Teachers in the Restoration Movement(s). Not all teachers are members of the ICOC. I try to give a balance of philosophies and teachings, yet I’m primarily focused on providing links to material that would benefit those of us who have adapted a Restoration Theology. Obviously I consider myself part of a movement and desire the unification of our Restoration Families. I am a member of the ICOC, but ultimately I understand Jesus is the final authority of our faith (not my affiliations).

If you have any Teachers you’d like to recommend, please forward their information to me at Jef@ResPress.Info

Douglas Jacoby

Douglas Jacoby was born August 13th, 1959 in Jacksonville, Florida. Married August 17th, 1985 to Victoria Gibbs and together they have three children. Douglas’ Church membership is with the ‘North River Church of Christ’ in Marietta, Georgia. In 1993 he was recognized as International Teacher for the ICOC. In 2003 he became an International Teaching Consultant and the principal instructor for the Athens Institute of Ministry. Although being part of the ICOC, Douglas Jacoby keeps an independent teaching style and even challenges traditional ICOC teachings. He is one of my favorite resources.

Douglas Jacoby has two notable websites:

John Oakes

John Oakes was born in Connecticut. In the summer of 1984 he married his wife Jan and together they have three children. John’s Church membership is with the Tri-Valley Region, of the San Diego Church of Christ (SDCOC) in California. In 2003 he began serving as president of Apologetics Research Society, a California non-profit corporation. John Oakes should be considered one of the smartest minds the ICOC in the areas of Apologetics, Science, History, Archaeology of the Bible, and Messianic Prophecies (just to name a few).

Rex Geissler & GCI Books

Rex Geissler has a basic website, but an incredible resource. This site appears to serve as his personal site but also doubles as GCI Books. You can order books there, but why would you? You can download the books for free. There lots of other stuff there so have fun exploring.
