Hi, let me introduce myself. My name is Kelly, I'm a 33 year old real person with real problems.
I'm here asking all you kind people out there for a little bit of help. I'm a married, mother of one (3 year old), cancer survivor. My husband works a full time job with the military to keep us from going deeper into debt then we already have. $20,000 to be exact, at the moment.
We have no credit cards (nor any debts from past ones we did own, which are all now void and canceled) all of our debts are from my medical bills. I was diagnosed with cancer in July, 2000 (just 5 months after our daughter was born), and since then the bills have been stacking up. At the start of all this my husband had to leave a fairly good job that was close to home (but didnt quite pay the bills of everyday living let alone anything extra that might show up) to find work in another state that would keep us from going on welfare. I had to move in with my mother (not that she minded) to keep from having to pay for two households while I went through Chemo treatments.
We finally got on our feet (as far as everyday living goes) bill wise, this past year, with him getting a job with the military. However the medical bills still lume over us at every turn. As we are able to keep a roof over our heads, and food on the table, we can not seem to get past the 'pay check to pay check' phase.
I've put this site up to ask you for a little bit of charity. I'm not asking you to give us your last dollar, just if you have one or two dollars left over after your own bills are paid at the end of the month, to think about sending it to us.
