Save Springside Primary from Closure!

Fight for our community

Save Our School Poem, written by Kerina Clark, P6, Springside Primary

Save Our School!

NAC, NAC,

Please, please, please,

Hear our plee.

We don’t think it’s cool,

That you could think to shut our school.

HMI say we’re up to speed,

So what’s the point there is no need.

Our teachers offer a great education.

To get to school there’s no carbon emission.

We can hike or bike,

Without any fear,

Cause from our home,

Our school is near.

Our building is sound, needing little repair.

So spend a few pounds over the next 3 years.

The cost of the transport that we wouldn’t require,

Could be invested in our school to protect us from fire.

So please don't think,

we’ll take this lightly,

I hope you’ll adjust,

your proposal slightly.

Our class sizes are small,

With no more than 25 children in all.

We like it that way,

So we want it to stay.

Our family and friends and many more,

Would like the council to say “NO  MORE!”

School life for us is a joy and pleasure,

With plenty of room for fun and leisure.

School work is fun with the teachers we love,

To take this away could make it so tough.

We’re a school with a future, I’m sure you’ll agree,

So leave us alone, and let us be.

We kids are worried at the choice you may make.

A wrong decision could put village life at stake.

So please reconsider the proposal of school land,

As Springside pupils we’ll stand hand in hand.
