Hello, John,

My name is Timothy Grubbs.  I work at a Florida comic shop called Universe of Super-Heroes.  I received your flier this morning and hung it up on our front door with our other posters advertising new books.

I happen to be a huge Spider-Girl fan and read just about anything tom Defalco writes.  I hope that Spider-girl is saved yet again and will do my part to help.

Hi, I recieved your letter today. First I would like to commend you for not only takeing the time to write, but also the expense I am sure you incurred in contacting other shop owners and printing up the flyers. If we had more fans in the industry like you this industry would be much better off.

Not only do I plan to hang the flyer you sent but I also plan on ordering about 5 times my normal amount on this issue. I normally only order 3 copies ( for subscribers who request it). 15 is still not many copies but hopefully other shops will do the same and we can at least triple the sales on that issue.Had you not sent the letter I would probably have missed Marvel's tiny solicitation for it.

Please feel free to put alink to my site on your website ( or address phone etc) and I will be putting a link to www.savespidergirl.com on my website. Ifyou have a banner you would rather I use please feel free to email it to me.

Hi,

We are certainly happy to help save Spider-Girl. We've
enjoyed the comic for many, many issues.
We have placed the flyer that you sent us on our front
door of Movies, Music & Heroes. Most people didn't
know that the Spider-Girl series is in serious
trouble. If there is anything else we can do, feel
free to ask.

Sincerely,

Dear John,
Thank you for your unique packet, we are more than

Hi John,

This is ye 'ole Rascal at Agents Comics and Games. As Agents' resident web
monkey, I thought I'd take a second to respond to yer letter. We got your
letter, and the flier is posted. It's always cool when a grassroots
campaign gets going to save a sweet title. You got our support.

John,

I recieved your package by mail yesterday and wanted
to let you know the shop I manage, True Believers
Comics & Gallery in Santa Fe, NM, will be displaying
your No. 97 flier. I'll let you know if I get a
response from it. I've always admired the vocal,
grass-roots activity of Spider-Girl fans and have been
impressed by the effect it seems to have on Marvel's
usually intransigent policy-makers.

Sincerely,
Jett Boynton

Hi, my name is Fernando Ventura. I work at a comic shop in Los Angeles called Dream World Comics. We have many Spider Girl readers that have pull files in our store. We have put up the flier along with our other posters in our display window, and have made copies to put in our readers bags so they know whats going on. We hope that Marvel will not cancel Spider Girl because of the fan base this great comic has.

Thank You

Hi John,

We here at Twin City Comics have posted your flyer AND will increase our orders for  Spider-girl 97.  S.G. sells better for us than the following Marvel titles, B. Panther, Marvel Knights 4, Fury, and it sells numbers equal to Cable/Deadpool, Capt. America, & New Thunderbolts.  Thanks for your efforts, I hope you/we are successful!  Please encourage Marvel to not only continue the series but to NOT re-start the series with an issue #1.  You said you would publish our store info on your savespidergirl website so here it is.

Dear John:

Thanks for the material you sent my store.  I have displayed the poster and visited your site.  I have also increased my order on the comic since the bottom line is numbers and Marvel needs to see this in order to make the right decision.

I was on the ball on this front even before getting your information.  Below is a cut and paste of my last month's store newsletter in which I explain the situation in paragraph 5.  Thought you'd like to see it.

Best of luck with the effort!

NEW CUBE UPDATE:

According to the Spider-Girl message boards Marvel has closed the iron door on "Mayday" Parker once again and will cancel the series with issue #100  (#95 will be in stores on February 1).   Fans of the series have started another campaign to save Spider-Girl, which has been rescued from the scrap heap on several previous occasions.   Tom DeFalco has written almost the entire run of Spider-Girl, which began in 1998 as part of the ill-fated MC2 line.  At least this time Spider-Girl fans will have six months to drum up enough sales and support to keep the title going past issue #100.  Interestingly enough, the Cube’s sales on Spider-Girl have increased by 50% over the last six months so this seems an odd time to axe the title.
