What is wrong with swearing?
You hear people whine and moan about how they are offended by a word, and you just have to think that they are a bunch of dumb, mindless sheep with their heads up their asses. How else can it be that people are offended by a word.
For example, what's wrong with the word bitch? It's just a female dog isn't it? So how can it be offending? "You are such a female dog!" Oh dear, she called me a female dog! Now I must be offended! I would only be offended by the female part, but that's just me. Or how about the word fuck. Saying fuck is basically the same as saying sex isn't it? And since when was it a taboo to speak about sex? Oh yeah, that would be since WWII after which the race of dickwads and dipshits, like many educationists, took over.
And what also bothers me is how the media is trying to censor swearing, but is failing miserably at it. In America for example there are eight words if I'm not mistaken that can't be said on TV without exception. Fuck, shit, tit, dick, cunt and others I forgot. This is not only ridiculous because of the point mentioned above, but also because it means that everything else is okay! I can't say dick on TV? Ok, how about cock, wang, willy, dong, etc. etc. Or can't call someone a cunt? How about bitch, whore, slut or many more of the synonyms.
And the British television doesn't do a better job at it. they censor all wearing whatsoever... but only before 20:00. If it's a program after 20:00, it's okay to swear! Never mind that there are lots of little kids still watching TV at those times, because swearing is alright! I not so much combat the fact that swearing is okay, but more the fact that swearing is only okay after a certain time. That's just bollocks.
And the result of this, is that normal words are seen as swear words. Cancer is used as a cuss word here in Holland, so whenever you say it, people will give you weird looks, regardless of the context. The same thing happened with the word "bloody" in Britain.
The bottom line is, is that there's nothing wrong with swearing. You can't be offended by a word, unless you're an idiot. And presumably lots of people are idiots. There was more stuff I was going to say, but I forgot. I hate it when that happens. Oh well.
