Sass 'n Books rattery is a small hobby breeder of pedigreed rats, located in the SF Bay Area. I have kept rats, on and off, for 15 years now. My first rat came from a litter born at a sixth grade science camp, and I was hooked. I currently have 14 rats. I've spent the last 3 years researching breeders and rat genetics, and have obtained some wonderful, healthy ratties, and I am finally breeding again, on a very small scale.I will be focusing primarily on mink, blue, platinum, and the agouti variants of those colors, in a variety of markings including DownUnder, hooded, berkshire, variegated, dalmatian, and recessive blazed. I personally prefer dark-eyed rats with a lot of white on their bodies, and some sort of facial marking (headspot, mask, blaze) so most of my litters will probably contain those attributes. I plan to breed both standard and dumbo-eared rats and will work almost exclusively with pedigreed rats, although I did make an exception for Henry of SBKR, as he has proven himself to be a wonderful rat, in health, temperament, and color.
UPDATE: 12/03/07 I am forced to take a break from breeding, due to the fact that I do not currently have any breedable girls.
