The Saskatoon Kennel Obedience Club Inc. is a family orientated, non profit, all breeds dog club operating in the city of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.
Saskatoon Kennel & Obedience Club Inc.

The Saskatoon Kennel Obedience Club was established May 12, 1963, to promote purebred dogs in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. Obedience classes were started in April 1963, and the club's first conformation and obedience matches were held two months later. Saskatoon Kennel Obedience Club's first all breeds championship shows and obedience trials were held September 19th & 20th, 1964 at the Kinsmen Arena.
The purpose of the Saskatoon Kennel Obedience Club is to promote the betterment and welfare of purebred dogs by encouraging responsible breeding and ownership as well as good sportsmanship. To achieve this purpose, the SKOC hosts Canadian Kennel Club Approved Obedience Trials during the winter and yearly CKC Approved All Breeds Championship Dog Shows and Obedience Trials in September. These events are run entirely by our hard working club volunteers.
The club holds meetings the first Monday of every month except July. Periodically potluck suppers are held in conjunction with these monthly meetings which has proven to be an excellent means of drawing members out to the meetings! We have 14 Life Members, meaning they have been a member of the club for a minimum of 15 years. Four of these Life Members have been members for more than 30 years!
Our classes, both obedience and conformation, are taught by experienced trainers and knowledgeable assistants. Strict criteria must be met to become a trainer for the SKOC. Classes resume after the Labour Day Weekend in September and go to the end of May. We also sponsor obedience and conformation matches occasionally throughout the year. The matches are an excellent training ground for teaching proper ring stewarding procedures for future shows and trials.
When time permits we do pet visitations and put on demos when requested.
