I knew I was going to be up a little bit this week, and I was. Just one pound. I'm still below the 20% mark, so that feels good.
We had a great meeting today, though. Julie, the leader, asked us to remember all the things we have gained by losing weight. The members were naming off things like not huffing and puffing, new clothes, enjoying a small amount of food instead of a huge portion that you just scarf down, etc.
Then, Julie asked us to think about the reason that made us walk into Weight Watchers in the first place. And she looked right at me and said, "Sarah, why did you join?"
I told her - and the group: "I joined in October because my husband and I had been married for about a year and a half, and we were talking about having kids. But there was no way that I could have a healthy pregnancy, or be a healthy mom, or be a good example to my kids at 282 pounds. So I joined Weight Watchers, and I looked at the healthy weight charts and realized I needed to lose half of my weight."
Julie said, "But you aren't doing it all at once, right? You're doing it in steps. And how much have you lost?"
"57 pounds." Everyone clapped. "And 20% of my starting weight."
Julie said, "I remember that you told me that last week. Good for you!"
It felt really good to talk about, and to remind myself why I am doing this in the first place. I want to be a healthy mom that raises healthy kids. I want to walk in to the doctor's office when we want to start our family, and not have weight even come up as an issue. I don't want my kids to ever know me as an obese person... I just want them to know me as "Mom."
I lost 0.8 pounds this week, just enough for me to hit 58 pounds gone! I'm under 225... amazing!!
I had a pretty good week, working to walk the dogs just a little farther in the evenings so I (and they) get a tiny bit more activity in, and drinking my water regularly. Last night Ryan and I went to Kerbey Lane Cafe to get a little treat, and I splurged - somewhat - on the tofu mocha "cheese" cake, which tasted great and really hit my sweet tooth in the right spot!
I'm hoping to continue my successful string of losses as we get into the fall and winter. I've been with Weight Watchers for nearly 11 months now, and I'm well on my way to making this a part of my lifetime!!
I hit my 20% yesterday!! I lost 1.2 pounds this week to hit 225.4, a total of 57.2 pounds gone. My BMI is at 38.8 now - I started at 48.64. So it's dropped almsot 10 points since I started!
I'm so excited to have reached this new milestone, finally. It seems like it's been slow in coming off for this last 10%. I spent four months in the 230s, and now that I have gotten focused again, the plan is really working consistently for me. It's not always fast, but that's okay... I have been losing for five weeks straight now!
I'm thankful for everyone who's been supporting me over the past 10 months as I've taken steps to get healthier. Now I only have to lose 10% three more times and I'll have reached my goal!!
