I haven't updated my site in a couple of weeks because my husband and I found out that we are going to have a baby! We're both very excited and I'm planning on staying on track as much as my doctor will allow. We'll see how it goes! You can follow all of the baby news at http://babyloyd.tumblr.com!
A yo-yo is something your hand does... a see-saw is something your entire body does. I'm on a see-saw.Last week I lost 3.8 pounds and hit 60 pounds gone. I was so excited - as well I should have been! I haven't seen a large loss like that in a long time. So, I wasn't too surprised when I found myself with a 1.4 pound gain this week, even though I had half of my weekly points allowance left, even though I'd eaten a lot of good, healthy food and worked really hard on getting in all of my water, fruits and vegetables, oil, and dairy. Maybe I should have worked harder on the "limit sugar and alcohol" guideline, because after a horrible day on Monday I had a Hershey's Special Dark bar (the regular size, not the one that's as big as a postcard - or a skateboard) and a few glasses of red wine. Hey, it's heart healthy. But really, it was just one of those weeks where I gain, and it was bound to happen. I'm still on track, nothing has changed, and this week I will continue to be on track. The scale will catch up with my efforts soon enough.
We saw the Punch Brothers last night, and even though I've been a little discouraged with my weight loss recently (I had a gain of 0.8 this week, on top of last week's gain of 1 pound - we'll see how I do on Wednesday), I was pleased to look at my photo from after the show last night and compare it to the last time we met Chris Thile in April of 2006, a year and a half before I started Weight Watchers. That was April of 2006...and that's last night... although Chris is wearing the EXACT SAME SHIRT as he did at the Nickel Creek show nearly two and a half years ago (wow)!But... looking at the picture, it's awesome to see the difference. Ryan's face looks thinner, too. This really makes me want to get back on track so that I don't ever have to go back to where I was before!
