I, Sarah Bell (trading as Sarahdesigns), know that you care how information about you is used and shared, and I appreciate your trust in me to do that carefully and sensibly. This notice describes my privacy policy and forms part of my Facebook and website terms and conditions.

I believe it is important to protect your Personal Data (as defined in the Data Protection Act 1998) and I am committed to giving you a personalised service which meets your needs in a way that also protects your privacy. This policy explains how I may collect Personal Data from you. It also explains some of the security measures I take to protect your Personal Data and tells you certain things I do and do not do.

When I first obtain Personal Data from you, or when you purchase a new product from me, I will only use that information to complete, process and post your order. I do not use mailing lists, and will not directly contact you for marketing purposes.

Some of the Personal Data I hold about you may be “sensitive personal data” within the meaning of the Data Protection Act 1998.

Collecting information
I may collect Personal Data about you from a few sources, including the following:
-From you when you agree to purchase a product from me, in which case will include your contact details (name, address, phone number and email address) and how you will pay for the product
-From you when you contact me with an inquiry.

Personal Data
Personal Data about my customers is an important part of my business and I shall only use your Personal Data for the following purposes, and I shall not keep such Personal Data longer than is necessary to fulfil these purposes for 6 years. These are:
-To comply with HMRC self assessment regulations.
-To contact you regarding your order, or to allow me to relay information to you about your order.
-To allow me to carry out marketing analysis of my products.
-I may monitor and record communications with you for quality assurance and compliance

Furthermore, I will NOT disclose your Personal Data to third parties, unless:
-You choose to complete your order through one of my trusted outlets, (Etsy, Folksy) in which case your information will be processed using these sites, inputted by yourself. These outlets have their own privacy policies, available here:

-You choose to have your items delivered by a courier of your choice, who requires contact information.
-You choose a payment method that requires me to input your chosen email address to request payment (Paypal, Paypal.me)

Where you give me personal Data on behalf of someone else, you confirm that you have provided them with the information set out in this privacy policy and that they have not objected to such use of their Personal Data


Storage of Personal Data
When you place an order with me, I require Personal Data from you, in the form of name, address, email and a phone number, along with product personalisation details if necessary. This information will be kept on copies of receipts I send to you with your order details.
I am required to keep this information as a small business owner, to later notify HMRC of my sales made. This information will be kept on record for five years.
All personal identifiable data collected will be stored in locked storage, and you can request access to a copy of your records kept by me here.

Protecting information
I have strict security measures to protect Personal Data
I work to protect the security of your personal data by maintaining electronic and procedural safeguards in connection with the collection storage and disclosure of personally identifiable customer information

The internet
If you communicate with me using the internet, I will only notify you about a specific product if you have previously requested me to do so. For example, a re-stock.
Please remember that communications over the internet, such as messaging or email, are not always secure unless they have been encrypted. Your communications may go through a number of countries before they are delivered – this is the nature of the internet, and therefore, I cannot accept responsibility for any unauthorised access or loss of Personal Data that is beyond my control.

Links and cookies
Both my Facebook page and my own website do include third-party advertising and links to other webpages and sites. I do not provide any personally identifiable customer personal data to these advertisers or third-party websites. These sites may use cookies to enhance your browsing experience. You have the right to request access to any information pertaining to you held by me.
You have the right for certain information pertaining to you to be erased.
You have the right to complain about the information pertaining to you that I have obtained, how it is used and stored.
