Musical History
Sarah has been singing all her life. She has participated in choirs for many years, including the University of Oregon University Singers and Chamber Choir and the Eugene Symphony Chorus. She received five wonderful and fruitful years of classical voice training from Eric Mentzel at the University of Oregon, but also loves singing jazz, musical theater, and a cappella. During
2006-2007 she was the Music Director for Divisi, the award-winning University of
Oregon's Women's A Cappella group, with which she sang from 2002-2007. Her time spent as a member of Divisi was life-altering and led to some of the most empowering musical, social, and travel experiences of her life. In the summer of 2006, Sarah played the lead role (Lilli Vanessi/Katherine) in Lane Summer Musical Theater's production of Kiss Me Kate. Sarah graduated from the University of Oregon in 2007 with a B. Mus. in Music Education and Vocal Performance. She is currently working towards a M. Mus. in Music Therapy at Florida State University, where she is studying with acclaimed professors Dr. Jayne Standley, Dr. Alice-Ann Darrow, and Dr. Clifford Madsen.
