We are a grassroots organization dedicated to strengthening the Pagan community and building bridges to the community beyond. Our Mission
The Southern Alberta Pagan Association (SAPA) aims to provide a safe and comfortable environment for Pagans and Pagan-friendly people. SAPA is dedicated to strengthening the Pagan community and building bridges to non-Pagan society in order to foster religous freedom and eliminate religious discrimination. We will achieve this through the enactment of four basic principles: education (symbolized by wind), charity (water), activism (fire), and community (earth).
Our Logo
The logo of the Southern Alberta Pagan Association is the product of the incredible creativity of one of our members. Faced with the challenge of creating a logo that was meaningful to all Pagans, not just to one group such as Wiccans, she created the design you see on the bottom of each page. The yellow swirl represents Air, the red flame is Fire, the green circle represents Earth, and the blue stream is Water. Together these elements make a coherent whole. This reminds us of the need to maintain balance and develop integration. Just like the elements combine to form Spirit, so do the various Pagan groups combined form something much greater than the sum of their parts.
