Ready to blast off...

Sanford Stars 4-H club had their sixth general meeting for the year on April 12 at the Brunkild church. 

After our business meeting, Heather Armstrong spoke about her time living and working in Lahr, Germany for our travel the world theme.  She talked about what it was like to be there near the end of the Cold War when the Canadian military was stationed there.  We learned about the Black Forest area where Lahr is located and about Triberg which is located nearby and famous for cuckoo clocks.   She also told us about a German type of restaurant called a gausthaus.  At the end of the meeting we had delicious Black Forest torte for a treat.

Our members are busy getting our projects ready, including the rocketry group that will be performing some test rocket launches this week.

Our regional rally will be held in Starbuck Friday June 2.  It will have a western theme with western food and activities including line dancing.   

Our next meeting will be held at the Murray residence on May 22 where our final travel the world theme will be about Egypt.  Watch for more information in the next and final report for our 4-H year.
